WE ARE HIRING: Event Coordinator (Night Market)

We are looking for a high-energy, organized, and street-smart Event Coordinator to lead the operations of our upcoming Night Market (Pasar Malam) project. If you are good at managing people, navigating local council regulations, and thrive in a fast-paced outdoor environment, we want you!

Scope of Work (SOW)

1. Regulatory & Licensing (Pre-Event)

  • Liaise with MBI / Local Council to ensure all permits are active and compliant.
  • Verify vendor documentation, including Typhoid (TY2) Vaccination cards and Food Handler Certificates.
  • Design and physically mark the Lot Layout (Zoning for wet/dry goods).

2. On-Site Operations (Market Day)

  • Vendor Placement: Oversee the "load-in" process and ensure traders are in their assigned lots.
  • Traffic & Security: Coordinate with RELA and local authorities for road closures and parking management.
  • Utility Management: Monitor generator (gen-set) usage and lighting setup.
  • Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for vendor disputes or technical issues.

3. Post-Event & Reporting

  • Cleanliness Oversight: Supervise the cleaning crew to ensure the site is "Zero-Waste" before road reopening.
  • Revenue Collection: Manage the collection of site fees and issue official receipts.
  • Reporting: Submit a weekly report on vendor attendance, incidents, and council feedback.

Who are we looking for?

  • Local Knowledge: Familiar with Perak’s local council (MBI/MBS) SOPs.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Bahasa Melayu. Proficiency in English or Mandarin/Cantonese is a major plus for vendor relations.
  • Stamina: Comfortable being on your feet in an outdoor setting for long shifts (typically 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM).
  • Firm & Diplomatic: Able to enforce rules with traders while maintaining a positive relationship.
  • Tech Savvy: Able to use WhatsApp and basic Excel/Google Sheets for reporting.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month

Work Location: In person
