Description :

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Act as the Person in Charge (PIC) to handle interactions with government safety departments or authorities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating inspections or audits as necessary.
• Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, training records.
• Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions.
• Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement of safety programs.
• Participate in safety committees and meetings to promote employee involvement and engagement in safety initiatives.
• Other ad-hoc assignments by direct report to top management
• To support in the planning and execution of ESG Policy and Framework, including ESG initiatives and activities
• Drive corporate social responsibility, environmental and sustainability strategies and initiatives for the company

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate/ Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in Manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Malaysian safety regulations and standards, including OSH Act.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety coordinator (e.g., NIOSH) is required.
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH with green book holder.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferable MALE
