Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

To assist in the daily requirements such as providing the legal services on all aspects of law; to safeguard the Company and its group’s interests and ensure that their rights are protected at all times.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• Providing legal advice whenever requested on matters relating to various aspects of laws including interpretation of statutes; laws; terms and conditions of agreements; issues relating to day to day operation of the Company and airports as well as to assist the Senior Manager and Manager in advising the Company in its day-to-day legal matters.
• Drafting and preparing Agreements; corporate; commercial and tenancy/concession contracts/agreements and scrutinize contracts; tender documents for the divisions and subsidiaries of the company.
• Perusing agreements; contracts and tender documents including giving comments on legal matters; requesting confirmation on the technical; financial and commercial requirements and if required recommending alternative requirement in the interest of the company.
• Managing the litigation files of the Company including issuance of internal letters of demand; draft the letter of undertaking in respect of the settlement of debts; advice on litigation matters; issuance of the instruction letter to proceed with legal action to the external solicitors and prepare status report and attend credit control committee meeting.
• Liasing with and supervising external solicitors on the litigation matters; consolidating the documents to be forwarded to the external solicitors; perusing court’s cause papers and monitoring the progress of the litigation cases.
• Representing the Company/its subsidiaries in negotiations and meetings with the government’s agencies; tenants/concessionaires of the Company/subsidiaries and debtors of the Company/subsidiaries in respect of the preparation/finalization of the contracts; litigation matters and Company’s day-to day operation.
• All other duties which shall be instructed by the General Manager , Senior Manager and Manager from time to time.

• To ensure that the Company’s interest are at all time protected.
• To avoid multiple claims against the Company in respect of the matter which has been assigned to Legal Services to look at.
  

Skills

• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate and achievement oriented.
• Able to work under minimum supervision

Relevant Industries

External

• Degree in LL.B (Hons) with CGPA of > 3.0 and
• Minimum of 1 year relevant working experience

Unique Requirement

• Called to the Bar.
• Have an experience as practicing lawyer and/or other related in house legal counsel
• Experience in Industrial Relations matters is an advantage

Education

External

• Degree in Law/LLB (Hons)
