Job Title: Environmental Officer
Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, laws, and company policies.
• Obtain necessary environmental permits and approvals.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) for projects.
• Monitor environmental conditions such as air quality, water discharge, and noise levels.
• Perform site inspections and audits for environmental compliance.
• Develop and implement waste management strategies.
• Monitor and manage pollution control measures.
• Promote the use of eco-friendly materials and sustainable practices.
• Implement energy-efficient practices and reduce carbon footprint.
• Prepare and submit regular environmental reports to management and authorities.
• Maintain records of environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Organize environmental awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Ensure staff are aware of environmental policies and practices.
• Respond to environmental emergencies, such as spills or pollution incidents.
• Conduct investigations into environmental incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Liaise with external agencies during environmental emergencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in construction.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and best practices in construction.
• Familiarity with EIA and ISO 14001 standards.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Work Conditions:

• Site-based role with outdoor work in varying conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,300.00 per month

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend jobs

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kuching (Kuching): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
