Engineering Manager Opportunity – Chemical Manufacturing Industry
Our client is an established manufacturing company with operations in Malaysia, serving regional and international markets. They are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering, maintenance, and utilities operations in Nilai.

Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in plant engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing operations
- Strong technical experience in:
Ø Plant maintenance management
Ø Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and facility infrastructure maintenance
Ø Preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programmes
Ø Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and breakdown troubleshooting
Ø Utilities and energy management
Ø CAPEX project execution
Ø Spare parts / engineering inventory management
Ø Maintenance budgeting and cost control
- Regulatory compliance, safety, and audit readiness
Ø Proven leadership experience in managing engineering / maintenance teams
Ø Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities
Ø Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all engineering and maintenance functions to ensure maximum machinery uptime, plant reliability, and operational efficiency
- Oversee total plant maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities, and infrastructure systems
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies to minimise downtime
- Conduct root cause analysis for major equipment failures and drive corrective / preventive actions
- Provide technical support and engineering solutions to operational teams
- Monitor and optimise energy and utility consumption for cost efficiency and performance improvement
- Manage engineering stores, spare parts planning, procurement support, and material availability
- Lead CAPEX project execution, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, timelines, and budgets
- Monitor engineering budgets, maintenance expenses, and operational cost controls
- Prepare engineering performance reports covering maintenance KPIs, utilities, inventory, and project progress
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Support audit readiness and internal / external compliance requirements
- Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team while fostering a strong continuous improvement culture
