SPONSORSHIP MANAGER

AirAsia brand co. (Abc.), Kuala Lumpur

As a Sponsorship Brand/Marketing Manager at Abc., you bring life to the vision and development of the AirAsia group of brands through strategic sponsorships. You are responsible for developing and executing sponsorship strategies that improve the brand’s visibility and engagement in key markets, segments and communities. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of brand, marketing and sponsorship landscapes. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging valuable sponsorship opportunities, managing relationships with sponsors/sponsees, and ensuring the successful integration of sponsorship initiatives into our overall brand strategy. Your creativity, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking will be essential in developing sponsorship programs that drive brand growth and deliver measurable results. You also have the natural ability to build relationships with counterparts of sponsored projects. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you will ensure that our sponsorship activities align with our brand values and objectives, ultimately contributing to our long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, lead, develop and implement comprehensive sponsorship strategies aligned with brand objectives.

  • Leverage on and activate global sponsorships to ensure high return of investments through strategizing, planning & executing campaigns

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors/sponsees, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Act as the main point of contact for all sponsorship-related inquiries and communications.

  • Oversee the execution of sponsorship agreements, ensuring all deliverables are met. Work closely with Marketing & Branding departments within the group to integrate sponsorship entitlements with commercial and brand-building campaigns

  • Be the conduit between Abc. and licensee brands to leverage sponsorship entitlements

  • Develop activation plans that maximize sponsorship exposure and engagement at events and through various media channels.

  • Review & evaluate sponsorship proposals to ensure brand fit, relevance to company’s objectives

  • Negotiate contracts for the best & most beneficial entitlements

  • Formulate annual plans & budgets for existing sponsorships

  • Prepare regular reports on sponsorship outcomes, including ROI analysis and recommendations for improvement.

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and emerging opportunities in sponsorship.

  • Ensure all sponsorship activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Work with legal teams to draft and review sponsorship contracts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University graduate with a degree in marketing, mass communications, advertising or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience in sponsorship management, brand marketing, account servicing role or a related field.

  • Experience in partnership marketing or sponsorship management is beneficial.

  • Must be confident, self-motivated, meticulous, resourceful, and able to perform under tight deadlines.

  • Able to travel as and when required.

  • Proficient in oral and written English. Proficiency in other languages, especially Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin is beneficial.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including presenting and training abilities.

  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality, tactful and discreet when dealing with people.

  • Strong and genuine passion and understanding for sports, entertainment, or related industries.

  • Thorough understanding of brand marketing strategy, strong communications skills, and the ability to find creative and unique solutions.

  • Thorough understanding of relevant distribution & advertising platforms

  • Strong planning and project management skills. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong understanding of brand management principles.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma or similar is an added advantage.
