Description :
1. Dispensing Medications: Pharmacy assistants often assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications to patients. This involves retrieving medications from stock, counting pills, and packaging them according to prescription requirements.
2. Customer Service: Interacting with customers and patients is a significant part of a pharmacy assistant’s job. They may answer phone calls, assist customers in finding over-the-counter medications, and provide basic information about prescription drugs.
3. Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels and ordering medications and supplies when necessary is another responsibility of pharmacy assistants. This ensures that the pharmacy has an adequate supply of medications to meet patient needs.
4. Administrative Tasks: Pharmacy assistants may also perform various administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records, processing insurance claims, and managing paperwork related to prescriptions.
5. Health Education: Pharmacy assistants may provide basic health education to patients, such as information on how to properly take medications, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
