The Senior Sales Manager for Bulk Liquid Logistics is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth across a broad portfolio of logistics services, including Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank (Food Grade and Dangerous Goods), Cryogenic Tank, and value-added end-to-end services such as disposal at destination, cleaning, and specialized handling. The role requires strong leadership, business development, and account management skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of complex logistics operations. The Senior Sales Manager will lead a sales team to manage key customer accounts, identify new business opportunities, and deliver tailored logistics solutions that meet customer requirements while achieving the company’s financial goals. Responsibilities will include as follow:-
Job Description:
Sales Strategy and Business Development:
1. Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share across all bulk liquid logistics services.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities in Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank (DG and Food Grade), and Cryogenic Tank logistics.
- Create tailored sales strategies for each logistics service line, considering specific market segments, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
2. New Business Acquisition:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the bulk liquid logistics market.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients, focusing on high-value accounts and strategic industry sectors.
- Lead sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposal negotiations with prospective clients.
3. Account Management and Relationship Building:
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and a deep understanding of each customer’s logistics needs.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key clients to assess service performance, resolve issues, and identify additional service opportunities.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Sales Leadership and Team Management:
1. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales executives and account managers.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and professional development support.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on achieving sales targets, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Pricing and Proposal Management:
1. Pricing Strategy and Quotation Management:
- Develop pricing strategies for complex logistics solutions, including Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank, Cryogenic Tank, and value-added services.
- Review and approve pricing proposals to ensure profitability and competitive positioning.
- Work closely with the operations and finance teams to evaluate costs and ensure that all quotations are aligned with the company’s financial objectives.
2. Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Lead negotiations with customers to finalize contract terms, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and compliance, maintaining a clear record of service agreements.
Operational Coordination and Customer Solutions:
1. End-to-End Service Management:
- Oversee the delivery of end-to-end logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, Flexi-Tank disposal, ISO Tank cleaning, and specialized handling for hazardous and cryogenic materials.
- Coordinate with internal operations teams and external vendors to ensure that all customer requirements are met.
- Manage complex logistics projects, ensuring seamless execution and on-time delivery across the entire supply chain.
2. Operational Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Proactively address any operational issues that may impact customer satisfaction, such as delays, equipment availability, or regulatory challenges.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and optimize service delivery.
Market Analysis and Strategic Planning:
1. Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct research to stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and market trends.
- Use insights to refine sales strategies and develop competitive positioning for each service line.
2. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies and growth plans.
- Provide strategic input on new market opportunities, service expansions, and business development initiatives.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of bulk liquid logistics, including Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank (Food Grade and Dangerous Goods), and Cryogenic Tank operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
- Proficiency in sales management tools, CRM software, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle complex logistics challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales and business development, with specific experience in bulk liquid logistics.
- Proven track record in managing large, complex customer accounts and achieving revenue growth.
