Full Stack Engineer (Contract - 1 Year, Renewable)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (extendable)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Engineer to join a leading organization in the banking and financial services domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building robust, scalable, and high-performance web and mobile applications using modern technologies.

This is a contract position with potential for extension, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge digital transformation projects within a dynamic and agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end applications using React, React Native, Next.js (frontend) and Node.js/NestJS (backend).
• Build responsive web and cross-platform mobile solutions that deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using clean architecture principles.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and Security teams to ensure reliable and secure application delivery.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously enhance code quality.
• Support integration with core banking systems, third-party services, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning.
• Support SIT/UAT testing phases and deployment documentation.
• Engage in release planning and post-deployment support activities.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer.
• Core Skills:
• Frontend: React, React Native, Next.js
• Backend: Node.js, NestJS, Java
• Databases: SQL & NoSQL (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB)
• Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript
• Testing: Jest, Mocha, React Testing Library
• Version Control: Git
• Strong understanding of:
• Clean architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns
• Secure coding and application security best practices
• REST API design and microservices architecture
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or AWS Lambda
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with DevOps practices, message queues, or event-driven systems

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM4,265.94 - RM14,000.00 per month
