About the Role:

We are a well-established law firm expanding our footprint in Johor to support major property development projects. We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Senior Conveyancing Lawyer to head our new Project Development Conveyancing Team. This is a leadership role with growth potential, offering autonomy, performance-based incentives, and partnership track opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the project development conveyancing division of the Johor branch.
• Manage and supervise end-to-end conveyancing transactions including SPA, loan documentation, and perfection of transfer/charge, especially for housing development and commercial projects.
• Liaise with developers, bankers, government authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Advise and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements under HDA, NLC, and related laws.
• Manage a small team of legal associates and clerks (initially 2-3 members).
• Prepare and review legal documents, due diligence reports, and contract vetting for development projects.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, site visits, and project briefings.
• Collaborate with KL HQ for reporting, SOP adherence, and compliance audit.

Requirements:

• LL.B (Hons) and valid practising certificate in Malaysia.
• Minimum 5 years’ PQE in conveyancing, with at least 2 years handling developer project work.
• Proven ability to independently lead files and manage team members.
• Strong knowledge of Housing Development Act, NLC, Strata Management Act, and related property laws.
• Ability to interact with developers, bankers, and consultants professionally.
• Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
• Willingness to be based in Johor and grow the branch operations.

Preferred Experience:

• Worked in a panel firm for property developers or banks.
• Hands-on experience in project SPA, loan, and end-financing documentation.
• Familiarity with APDL, DO/BP, and project approvals is advantageous
