Job Title: General Manager – Human Resources
Salary: RM12,000 - RM15,000

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly strategic, experienced, and results-driven General Manager – Human Resources to oversee and shape the HR function at our exclusive luxury resort. As a key member of the executive team, this position focuses on high-level human resources planning, workforce governance, and organizational development, rather than daily operational tasks. The GM HR will be responsible for creating a disciplined, service-oriented, and high-performing workforce, ensuring that people strategies are aligned with the resort's business objectives to optimize operational efficiency and enhance guest satisfaction. This is a leadership role ideal for a candidate with a strong blend of strategic HR vision and people management expertise in a hospitality environment.

Key Priorities & Objectives:

  • Drive structured manpower planning to ensure a consistent and efficient workforce across all departments.
  • Strengthen employee discipline, policy compliance, and accountability at the management level.
  • Develop and implement people strategies to enhance retention, performance, and career development.
  • Advise the Director of Hospitality and department heads to ensure alignment of HR practices with resort goals.
  • Lead the HR function with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to compliance standards.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Define and execute HR strategies that support the resort's long-term business objectives and service goals.
  • Advise the Director of Hospitality and leadership team on organizational design, manpower planning, and people management.
  • Foster a culture of discipline, service excellence, and accountability across the organization.

2. Workforce Planning & Organizational Structure

  • Oversee end-to-end manpower planning and staffing, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and business forecasts.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate scheduling, headcount control, and budget compliance.
  • Recommend structural adjustments to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.

3. Performance Oversight & Standards Governance

  • Ensure that department heads uphold performance expectations, grooming standards, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Develop and implement performance frameworks, conduct evaluations, and manage progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor performance trends and address systemic issues with senior leadership.

4. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Strategy

  • Lead the recruitment process at the senior level, focusing on attracting high-caliber candidates aligned with the resort's culture.
  • Oversee a structured, standards-based onboarding process that reflects the resort’s values and service expectations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on talent forecasting and succession planning.

5. Employee Engagement, Culture & Retention

  • Promote a work culture rooted in professionalism, collaboration, and respect.
  • Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives to ensure satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
  • Maintain visibility at a strategic level, through reporting, town halls, and engagement metrics, while avoiding direct operational involvement.

6. Training, Leadership Development & Advisory Support

  • Identify training needs and implement structured development programs for team leaders and middle managers.
  • Act as a coach and advisor to department heads, ensuring leadership consistency across the resort.
  • Develop leadership pipelines and succession plans to support internal talent growth.

7. HR Operations, Policy & Compliance

  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll, HRIS, contracts, and employment records.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labor laws, audit standards, and internal policies.
  • Regularly update HR policies and SOPs to ensure legal compliance and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position within luxury hospitality.
  • Deep understanding of HR planning, organizational governance, and cross-functional alignment at an executive level.
  • Expertise in Malaysian labor laws, disciplinary frameworks, and leadership coaching.
  • Professional demeanor with high integrity and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a firm, hands-on approach to policy and organizational development.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
